Images: KC Sprints: Lincoln.

Goldsprints: Who knew riding stationary rollers in a bar establishment could be a good idea. If excruciating bursts of pain are your idea of fun, that is. So yes, I was all about it. Such intensity sure brings out the best in people's faces.

It's simple really: Take a fixed gear bike, lock down the fork (sans wheel), put it on some rollers with sensors that are hooked up to a computer. Then go as hard as you can for a virtual 500 meters. Simple. Right?

To my own surprise, I found myself rather savvy in the sprints even though most of us know I am not a sprinter. But then again, it's all about pain and pushing yourself to the limits. I couldn't see anything past the stem on my bike, so it was more of a personal race than anything else. Perhaps if I would have looked up, I would have placed higher.

Thanks to KC Sprints and the Lincoln Crew -- good meeting all of you fellow bike goons. I look forward to seeing you all again in Omaha for another set of Goldsprints in the future. But for now, here is a gallery of images I shot when not pedaling my brains out.

Those photos are sweet! Thanks for sharing.

Also, thanks again for coming down to Lincoln for the event. You and Jesse put on quite a show! Looking forward to the next Sprint event, where ever it may be.

BTW, the word verification for this post is "recess". Nice.
